Health

Rural areas in South Africa continue to be under-resourced and lack the necessary capacity to deal with an extensive disease burden.  We have no clinics in any of our four villages and have implemented a number of health projects to provide preventative services; manage illnesses, communicable diseases and chronic conditions as well as to promote health. These interventions are also critical inputs to improving education outcomes.

Our Home-Based Carers are a significantly useful intervention in remote rural areas.  It is also a scaleable primary health intervention that could be integrated more effectively into the public health system.  We have a wealth of experience and information that can be shared with government and other communities.
